Project Overview:
This is an opportunity to work on one of the largest programs in Saudi Arabia. The project entails a major mixed-use development including sports facilities, entertainment, arts, and associated infrastructure. Mace is currently providing program management and is looking for high-caliber experienced professionals to lead integrated teams throughout each phase of the project.
Role Overview:
As the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for assisting the commercial lead in pre and post-contract end-to-end processes, as well as supporting the procurement team in the tender cycle. You will ensure compliance with safety, quality, cost, program, sustainability, and project standards. Additionally, you will manage the commercial aspects of the project, including contract management, budget oversight, and stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities:
Assist the commercial lead in pre and post-contract processes, including tender preparation, contract review, and negotiation.
Review and monitor cost consultants' cost plans throughout the project lifecycle.
Review submissions for payment from contractors and subcontractors, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Manage procurement activities, including expressions of interest, tender documents, and contract negotiations.
Oversee contract management and administration, including evaluation, KPIs, and record-keeping.
Direct and supervise the cost management team, providing support across the project.
Review contracts and make recommendations on commercial aspects.
Monitor performance using key metrics and prepare reports for senior management.
Define project plan documents, including scope, financial plans, schedule, and risk management plans.
Develop and distribute presentations, weekly, and monthly reports on project progress.
Provide technical expertise and support to delivery teams.
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and regulatory requirements.
Foster an inclusive and diverse working environment, promoting Mace's values.
Requirements:
Degree in quantity surveying/cost management or equivalent.
Professional membership or working towards MRICS/RICS or equivalent.
Relevant work experience in high-valued projects/programs for a project management consultancy.
Extensive construction experience, preferably in the MEA region.
Influential skills and experience in leading major construction projects.
Experience in business development and commercial acumen.
Knowledge of value engineering, life cycle costing, and contract law.
Experience managing relationships with senior stakeholders.
