Job Description
Join our 2024 Graduate Program and start an exciting journey as a Graduate Mechanical Engineer within our Rail team at AECOM.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about Engineering (MEP) Practice, specifically with a focus on Rail assets.
Our team specializes in delivering projects in transit/rail and metros, covering station architecture, station entrances, placemaking, depots, ancillary buildings, urban integration, multimodal integration, concept designs, schematic designs, and detailed designs for construction.
You will have the opportunity to develop professionally in an engineering design environment, working on projects under the guidance of senior team members.
Role Overview
As a Graduate Mechanical Engineer at AECOM, you will gain hands-on experience in an engineering design setting, working on diverse Rail projects under the mentorship of senior team members. Your role will focus on Building Engineering Design, BIM Model and Drawing production, ensuring design brief compliance, completeness, and accuracy, particularly in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems.
Responsibilities:
Plan, design, monitor, and inspect HVAC & Hydraulics systems, utilizing advanced modeling software like HAP/IES to calculate heating, cooling, and ventilation requirements.
Use thermal and energy modeling tools to explore sustainable solutions aimed at reducing building energy consumption.
Engage in building design coordination, leveraging BIM platforms to collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and stakeholders throughout project phases.
Given that HVAC systems constitute a significant portion of a building's energy consumption, mechanical engineers have a unique opportunity to influence the environmental impact and address climate change concerns. By integrating sustainable design principles into each project, we can ensure that our construction endeavors have a minimized impact on the environment.
