About the Role:
In this project-specific role (36 months), you will lead a team of engineers on a highways and bridges project in Bahrain. You will oversee all aspects of site operations, ensure adherence to project specifications and contract requirements, and manage client relationships.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of site engineers, inspectors, and sub-consultants.
Oversee all construction activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and Ministry of Works requirements.
Liaise with clients, authorities, and contractors to coordinate project activities and resolve issues.
Manage contract administration, including change orders, invoices, and progress payments.
Conduct quality assurance inspections, monitor construction progress, and address non-conformance reports.
Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, and correspondence.
Lead weekly progress meetings and ensure effective communication with all stakeholders.
Manage project safety protocols and report on safety violations.
Supervise and mentor the Assistant Resident Engineer and inspectors.
Negotiate and manage contract changes with the contractor on behalf of the client.
Manage project budget and resources.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager - Civil Construction.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (required).
Master's degree in Engineering and PMP certification (preferred).
Minimum 15 years of experience in civil engineering and bridge construction projects.
Minimum 5-10 years of experience supervising the construction of cable-stayed bridges, marine bridges, grade-separated junctions, and highway works (critical).
Experience with FIDIC or equivalent construction contracts (a plus).
Proven ability to lead and manage a team in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client coordination skills.
Strong reporting and writing skills.
Proactive, adaptable, and a motivated team player.
Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
