Key Responsibilities

• Deliver thorough, independent, and complete cost estimations for tenders.

• Collect all relevant information from production estimators, design engineers, tender managers, and through site visits.

• Process gathered data into clear, optimal budgets and cost estimates, including planning and work sequencing.

• Regularly consult with colleagues from the commercial department and project managers regarding costs.

• Generate creative and innovative ideas and alternatives to ensure competitive cost estimation and efficient work plans.

• Assess proposals, prices of subcontractors, and suppliers.

• Ensure that gathered data and budget information are maintained and knowledge is transferred to project management and the commercial department.

• Assist in preparing tender/quotation documents for tendering purposes.

• Maintain a database containing prices/quotes from subcontractors.

• Collaborate closely with production estimators, colleagues from the commercial department, and tender managers.

• Study and analyze bids/tenders technically and commercially, writing scope clarifications.

• Identify risks, opportunities, and assumptions made within the cost estimates.

Skills

• 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in the dredging/civil marine industry.

• Technical/Engineering Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent professional qualification.

• Technical skills with thorough knowledge of estimation principles.
