Key responsibilities

• Deliver thorough, independent, and complete cost estimations for tenders.

• Collect all relevant information from the production estimator, design engineer, tender manager, and/or through site visits.

• Process all gathered data into clear and cost-optimal budgets and cost estimates, including planning and work sequencing.

• Provide weekly reports to the Estimation Manager on milestones, work progress, issues, and planning.

• Regularly consult with colleagues from the commercial department and the project manager about cost estimates, opportunities, and risks in project execution.

• Generate creative and innovative ideas/alternatives to ensure competitive cost estimation and efficient work plans.

• Assess proposals/prices of subcontractors and suppliers.

• Ensure gathered data and budget information are maintained and knowledge is transferred to project management and the commercial department.

• Assist in preparing tender/quotation documents for tendering purposes.

• Maintain a database containing prices/quotes from subcontractors.

• Collaborate closely with production estimators, colleagues from the commercial department, and the project manager.

• Proactively engage with clients, empathizing with their wishes.

• Study and analyze bids/tenders technically and commercially, writing scope clarifications.

• Analyze and negotiate tender quotations for technical and commercial viability.

• Assess projects, identifying associated risks.

• Ensure time-bound proposals with a focus on accurate estimating.

• Technical skills with thorough knowledge of estimating principles.

• Prepare monthly statements.

Skills

• 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in the dredging/civil marine industry.

• Technical/Engineering Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent professional qualification.
