Job Description
Key responsibilitiesStudy tender documentation in order to gain a clear overall understanding and to fully appreciate the technical and commercial requirements to gain an appreciation of the construction method.
Coordinate the preparation of standard supplier/sub-contract invitations to bid packages. Evaluate bids, both commercially and technically, and assist in the compilation of the bid tabulation with recommendations for the preferred supplier/sub-contractor.
Attend client meetings with the manager, if required, to clarify queries related to commercial and technical issues.
Liaise with all other departments involved in the estimation process to ensure coordination and consolidation of activities.
Prepare a synopsis of the tender requirements. Include such clauses as terms of payment, insurance, liabilities, warranties, liquidated damages and bonds. Consult with the Legal Advisor to ensure NMDC position is fully protected.
Collate and prepare the technical and commercial proposals, in line with client requirements, and pass to the manager for review prior to sign-off and submission to client.
Prepare technical and commercial documents following award of contract for handover to Project Manager, Project Controls, and relevant operational departments.
Interact with the relevant department for the review of contract terms and conditions.
Supervise the activities of Proposal and Junior Proposal Engineers and provide advice and professional guidance.
Interaction with Estimators/ Budget controllers related to cost impact.
Compliance in accordance with HSE Standards.
Attend site visits when required.
Liaise with the estimator to price efficiently and review estimates before sending for management approval etc.
Skills8 years of relevant experience preferably in the dredging/civil marine industry
Bachelor’s Degree in technical or engineering majors
