Job Description
Purpose
Define, and adopt long, medium, and short term, strategies that focus achieving a sustainable competitive advantage by understanding the needs and wants of current and potential customer base. Develop tactical plans to communicate and promote our products and services, that will entice prospective customers to purchase our product and service, and brad Hasmart as a destination of customer choice.
1. Marketing Strategy
1.1. Formulate a practical marketing strategy that positively promotes the company’s brand:
1.1.1. On-line presence,
1.1.2. Improves efficiencies of social media
1.1.3. Brand presence and awareness in physical stores, and
1.1.4. Overall awareness in the societies we trade in.
1.2. Drive approved brand awareness initiatives.
1.3. Prepare and present marketing initiatives based on research of latest marketing trends.
1.4. Research and keep abreast of Marketing mix of our competitors and recommend strategies to keep ahead of our competitors.
2. Managing campaigns and projects
2.1. Creatively improve the collaboration amongst teams:
2.1.1. To prepare for campaigns, promotions, and sales
2.1.2. Improve overall signage and advertising presence across all media related platforms.
2.1.3. Develop media, [posters; banners; flyers; signage, etc]] for the physical stores
2.1.4. In conjunction with the sales team develop promotional activities to increase sales of product
2.2. Manage planned projects and day-to-day execution of marketing campaigns, promotions, and sales.
2.3. Host meeting and activities amongst Cross functional Teams, to prepare for campaigns and promotional projects.
2.4. Ensure all authorised marketing activities are monitored to completion and end of campaign procedures are adhered to.
2.5. Give away promotions is managed and executed according to agreed guidelines and instructions.
3. Managing Promotions
3.1. Cross functional teams are timeously notified of all promotional activities in stores, online and across social media.
3.2. Advertising instruments are designed, developed and ready for distribution to stores
3.3. Store visits and floor walks to ensure that the principles and agreed methods are adhered to.
3.4. An account of all marketing products is recorded, and all inventory, is stored, distributed and retrieved timeously.
4. Managing online and social media
4.1. Ensure that campaigns and promotions are current and appropriate media updated accordingly.
4.2. Employees are sensitised and briefed of upcoming events.
4.3. All platforms must have the same promotional message circulating.
5. Creating and Auditing Artwork
5.1. Ensure that the artwork is appealing, market and media appropriate and cost effective.
5.2. Synchronisation of all medial, e.g., if the poster illustrates a product selling at R199.90, that the shelf-talkers have the same price. Alternatively, a tag/poster showing the revised price.
5.3. All stores, social media and online receive the same message.
6. Influencing /Managing Marketing Budget
6.1. Budget must be planned according to expected sales gain.
6.2. Source 3rd party suppliers/vendors competitively
6.3. Research best practices and trends
7. Reporting
7.1. Breakdown of monthly expenditure across all platforms, with appropriate reasons
7.2. Technical detail of customer interactions, e.g., number of followers gained. made, etc.
7.3. Increase in customer interest or customer purchases.
7.4. Feedback of customers, compliments, likes, complaints etc.
8. Skill and Knowledge
8.1. Two or more years of experience in marketing, sales, or advertising
8.2. Hands-on experience in developing campaigns and promotions
8.3. Understanding who buys your products and services.
8.4. Understanding how you’ll motivate them to take profitable action.
8.5. Understanding your competitors who are trying to do the same thing.
8.6. Understanding how you’ll measure marketing activities and refine your approach.
8.7. Ability to convert prospective customers into paying customers for goods and services.
8.8. Effectively Research methodology
8.9. Negotiation practices
8.10. Proven success in a fast-paced environment, working both individually and as a team member.
8.11. Exceptional communication and presentation skills
8.12. Strong attention to deadlines and budgetary guidelines
8.13. Experience in content development Web design preferred.
8.14. Working knowledge social media platforms
