Job Description
Milaha is seeking a skilled and experienced Marine Electrician to join our team. You will play a vital role in the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment onboard vessels.
Responsibilities:
Installation of various electrical equipment systems on vessels.
Maintenance of plant electrical machinery and marine electrical systems.
Overhauling electrical equipment.
Troubleshooting and repairing electrical equipment faults.
Checking and repairing engine alarm and monitoring systems.
Fabrication of alarm panels.
Performing generator synchronization, load sharing, and situ system operations.
Repairing generators, navigation lights, steering control systems, bow thrusters, and other electrical components.
Inspecting and testing main switchboards.
Operating stress relieving machines, preparing reports, and measuring hardness.
Documentation & Communication:
Ensuring all necessary information is available for assigned tasks.
Reporting all rework to the Quality Department.
Reporting schedule deviations, anticipated risks or issues, unresolved problems, team member misconduct, or unsafe acts to the Production Manager.
Following Production Manager instructions regarding work execution and objectives, while prioritizing safety and quality and escalating concerns to management and QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) as needed.
Collaborating with personnel from other sections to ensure timely completion of activities and reporting any bottlenecks to the Production Manager.
Utilizing approved documentation to recommend procedure improvements and suggest material/equipment purchases for increased efficiency, safety, and quality.
Meetings & Development:
Attending daily production toolbox meetings punctually and contributing to achieving projected goals and addressing issues.
Striving for continuous self-development and improvement of facilities.
Safety & Housekeeping:
Maintaining a clean and organized work area (workshop or site) daily.
Properly maintaining assigned tools and equipment.
Utilizing a complete set of personal protective equipment (PPE) including helmet, coveralls, gloves, goggles, earplugs, and any additional specific equipment required during work hours.
Quality & Compliance:
Ensuring all work is performed safely, in accordance with high-quality standards, and following the division's HSSE, Quality Assurance procedures, and Quality Manuals.
Reporting to the line manager if no assignments are available.
Additional Responsibilities:
Performing all duties in alignment with Milaha's mission, vision, and core values.
Completing other assigned job-related tasks.
Qualifications:
Education & Professional Qualification:
Diploma, ITI certificate, or similar qualification in the electrical trade.
Professional Experience:
3-5 years of experience in a similar electrical trade.
Experience in heavy industry with electrical equipment is mandatory.
Shipyard experience is preferred.
Computer Skills:
Basic computer knowledge is a plus.
Language Skills:
Working knowledge of English and/or Hindi.
