Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive Business Continuity Management (BCM) program: This includes creating a framework for risk assessment, business impact analysis, strategy development, plan creation, testing, and ongoing maintenance.

  • Identify and assess potential threats and vulnerabilities to the organization's critical operations: Conduct thorough risk assessments to understand potential disruptions and their impact on business functions. This also includes conducting site risk assessment of the main HQ and data centers under BCM scope.

  • Develop and maintain business continuity plans (BCPs) for key business functions: These plans should outline procedures for recovery in the event of disruptions, minimizing downtime and ensuring critical operations resume efficiently.

  • Design and implement a business continuity awareness and training program: Educate employees at all levels on their roles and responsibilities in the event of a disruption.

  • Coordinate and conduct business continuity exercises and simulations: Test BCPs regularly to identify weaknesses and ensure plans are effective in a real-world scenario.

  • Maintain and ensure the readiness of alternate work sites and resources: This may involve managing backup data centers, communication systems, and critical equipment.

  • Communicate effectively with senior management and all departments regarding BCM initiatives: Provide updates on program progress, risks identified, and plan effectiveness.

  • Maintain compliance with industry regulations and standards related to business continuity. Stay updated on relevant standards and ensure the BCM program aligns with those requirements. This also includes participating in external and internal audits to maintain ISO 22301:2019 certification for stc.

  • Supplier/Third Party Evaluation: Conduct evaluation of the business continuity arrangements of stc suppliers so that a degree of confidence may be gained that suppliers possess sufficient resilience to support stc BCM requirements

  • Continuously improve the Business Continuity Management program: Analyze data from exercises and real-world events to identify areas for improvement and update plans accordingly.

  • Collaborate with external stakeholders: This may involve working with vendors, disaster recovery providers, and government agencies to ensure a coordinated response during an incident.

  • The purpose of a Business Continuity Senior Specialist is to safeguard the organization's critical operations by leading the development, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive Business Continuity Management (BCM) program.

  • Proactively identifies and assesses potential threats, designs, and tests recovery plans, and ensures the organization can effectively respond to disruptions and resume essential functions with minimal downtime.

  • By fostering a culture of preparedness and resilience, the Business Continuity Senior Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the organization's long-term stability and success.
