Job Description
Sidra Medicine is seeking a Hospital Neonatologist to join their Division of Neonatology. You'll play a vital role in providing comprehensive medical care to neonates in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and perinatal setting.
What You'll Do
Deliver Exceptional Neonatal Care:
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess and address the needs of neonates and their families, ensuring a patient-centered and evidence-based approach.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, optimizing outcomes and promoting health and wellness.
Perform comprehensive physical examinations, diagnose conditions, and order and interpret diagnostic tests.
Provide expert medical and therapeutic interventions, adhering to the highest safety and quality standards.
Counsel and educate families regarding their newborn's condition, treatment plan, and developmental needs.
Champion Quality & Improvement:
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, actively seeking ways to enhance patient care within the NICU and perinatal program.
Contribute to research projects, advancing neonatal medicine and improving clinical practices.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement departmental guidelines and protocols.
Education & Collaboration:
Participate in the education and training of nurses, allied health professionals, residents, and fellows, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
Maintain strong relationships with referring physicians and community partners to ensure seamless care coordination.
Professional Development:
Stay abreast of the latest advancements in neonatal-perinatal medicine through ongoing learning and professional development activities.
Actively participate in professional organizations, maintaining your medical license and board certification (or eligibility).
The Ideal Candidate:
M.D. degree (or equivalent) and Board Certification in Pediatrics.
Subspecialty Fellowship training in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine from an accredited program in North America, UK, European Union, Republic of South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, or the Middle East (exceptions may apply).
Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.
Strong clinical skills and a passion for providing compassionate, family-centered care.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to quality improvement and a dedication to continuous learning.
Sidra Medicine is a 400-bed women's and children's hospital, medical education and biomedical research center in Doha, Qatar. The hospital first opened its outpatient facility in 2016, followed by its inpatient hospital in January 2018. Qatar Foundation, a quasi-government organization, allotted a massive $7.9 billion budget for the hospital's construction. It first selected the center's contractors in 2008 but in 2014 assigned new contractors to complete the project. Biomedical research first began at Sidra in 2015. Outpatient care facilities and services were inaugurated in May 2016; as of 2018 there are at least 50 outpatient facilities. Throughout 2017, more than 25,000 people were treated at the hospital's outpatient clinic. On 14 January 2018, Sidra launched its inpatient hospital with 400 beds, treating 10 patients on its initial day of opening. The hospital is expected to become fully commissioned sometime in 2018, after the construction of an emergency department and the addition of further services.
