Job Description

In this pivotal role, you'll play a vital role in optimizing medication therapy and ensuring safe and effective medication use for our patients. You'll collaborate with healthcare professionals across disciplines to develop and implement comprehensive medication plans, provide expert drug information, and monitor patient outcomes.

What You'll Do:

  • Medication Management:

    • Conduct thorough medication reviews, assessing appropriateness, effectiveness, and safety of medication regimens.

    • Develop and implement personalized pharmaceutical care plans based on individual patient needs and medical conditions.

    • Monitor patient responses to medications and adjust therapy as needed to achieve optimal results.

  • Collaboration and Education:

    • Partner with healthcare teams to create and implement treatment protocols and guidelines.

    • Provide accurate and up-to-date drug information to healthcare professionals, patients, and caregivers.

    • Deliver educational programs to pharmacy staff, healthcare professionals, and patients on medication-related topics.

  • Compliance and Quality:

    • Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and best practices in pharmacy operations.

    • Maintain accurate and complete patient medication records.

  • Professional Development:

    • Continuously stay updated on the latest advancements in pharmacy practice, pharmacotherapy, and healthcare trends.

    • Uphold Sidra Medicine's high standards as outlined in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies.

Qualifications:

  • Education (Essential):

    • Bachelor of Pharmacy degree (required).

    • All degrees must be obtained from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy or equivalent.

  • Education (Preferred):

    • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Master's degree in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent.

  • Experience (Essential):

    • 2+ years of experience as a licensed and registered Clinical Pharmacist in an accredited hospital setting (post-graduate experience).

    • OR

    • Fresh PharmD graduate from Qatar University with no prior experience.

  • Experience (Preferred):

    • Clinical pharmacy experience in a pediatric hospital setting.

  • Licensure and Certification (Essential):

    • Licensed pharmacist in your country of origin.

    • Willing to obtain a State of Qatar Pharmacy License after onboarding.

  • Professional Membership (Preferred):

    • Membership in a relevant professional pharmacy organization.

  • Skills and Abilities:

    • Strong clinical knowledge of medications and disease management.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

    • Fluent in written and spoken English.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

    • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Sidra Medicine is a 400-bed women's and children's hospital, medical education and biomedical research center in Doha, Qatar. The hospital first opened its outpatient facility in 2016, followed by its inpatient hospital in January 2018. Qatar Foundation, a quasi-government organization, allotted a massive $7.9 billion budget for the hospital's construction. It first selected the center's contractors in 2008 but in 2014 assigned new contractors to complete the project. Biomedical research first began at Sidra in 2015. Outpatient care facilities and services were inaugurated in May 2016; as of 2018 there are at least 50 outpatient facilities. Throughout 2017, more than 25,000 people were treated at the hospital's outpatient clinic. On 14 January 2018, Sidra launched its inpatient hospital with 400 beds, treating 10 patients on its initial day of opening. The hospital is expected to become fully commissioned sometime in 2018, after the construction of an emergency department and the addition of further services.
