JOB SUMMARY
The Clinical Nurse - Homecare is responsible for competently providing safe and effective care to Women and Children in the home setting with minimal supervision by the Clinical Nurse Manager.
The Clinical Nurse - Homecare assesses care needs, plans, and implements and evaluates programs of care.
The Clinical Nurse - Homecare is responsible for ensuring that all duties are carried out to the highest possible standard in the patient's home.
The Clinical Nurse - Homecare is professionally accountable to the Chief Nursing Officer.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS - SELECTION CRITERIA
Education:
ESSENTIAL:
Bachelor Degree in Nursing (4 years)
Registered Nurse
Experience:
ESSENTIAL:
2+ years of recent clinical nursing experience within the relevant specialty from a highly esteemed healthcare institution
No minimum experience requirement for University of Calgary Qatar Graduates only
Certification and Licensure:
ESSENTIAL: Valid professional Nursing license in country of origin

KEY ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Makes decisions related to the home plans of care for women/children.
Provides total individualized patient care and assumes accountability for assessing, and participating in, home care planning for each patient and assessing for current and potential problems.
Assists patient care partner to arrange maintenance for Sidra-owned durable medical equipment.
Follows up on patients post discharge to assess if any issues.
Assists with the reordering of supplies/consumables needed for care at home.
Performs tasks as needed to support the comprehensive plan of care by the Clinical Nurse Leader - Case Management.
Delivers nursing care to patients in the home setting and rounds to support efficient patient pathways.
Maintains Sidra Qatar Resources Database.
Provides total individualized patient care and assumes accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care, discharge planning for each patient and assessing for current and potential problems.
Accurately, concisely and appropriately documents care, interventions and outcomes.
Contributes to the achievement of clinical quality outcome indicators and patient satisfaction by demonstration of extraordinary service.
Utilizes a professional practice framework and evidence based care, identifies improvement areas while minimizing risks creating care that is optimal for our patients and families.
Promotes a safe environment and safe patient care by embracing a safety culture and identifying areas of risk.
Educates the patient/family and other members of the health care team.

Acts as a role model for junior staff and assists in promoting and sharing knowledge via mentorship/preceptorship programs in line with relevant research and evidence based practice.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Sidra Medicine is a 400-bed women's and children's hospital, medical education and biomedical research center in Doha, Qatar. The hospital first opened its outpatient facility in 2016, followed by its inpatient hospital in January 2018. Qatar Foundation, a quasi-government organization, allotted a massive $7.9 billion budget for the hospital's construction. It first selected the center's contractors in 2008 but in 2014 assigned new contractors to complete the project. Biomedical research first began at Sidra in 2015. Outpatient care facilities and services were inaugurated in May 2016; as of 2018 there are at least 50 outpatient facilities. Throughout 2017, more than 25,000 people were treated at the hospital's outpatient clinic. On 14 January 2018, Sidra launched its inpatient hospital with 400 beds, treating 10 patients on its initial day of opening. The hospital is expected to become fully commissioned sometime in 2018, after the construction of an emergency department and the addition of further services.
