Job Description
The Clinical Nurse is responsible for competently providing safe and effective care to patients and families. The Clinical Nurse assesses care needs, plans, and implements and evaluates programs of care. The Clinical Nurse is responsible for ensuring that all duties are carried out to the highest possible standard. The Clinical Nurse participates in the supervision and teaching of more junior and new members of staff within the unit. The Clinical Nurse is professionally accountable to the Chief Nursing Officer. Sidra medicine is the only provider of pediatric cardiology service in Qatar (cardiac and EP intervention) due to the high demand from local and international patient and the complexity of our pediatric population cardiac Cath. lab service in outpatient and inpatient will require specific nursing skills and knowledge. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS - SELECTION CRITERIA Education ESSENTIAL
Bachelor Degree in Nursing (4 years) or Diploma in Nursing (3 years after post high school)
Registered Nurse
PREFERRED
Post graduate certificate in specialty if applicable in country of origin
Experience
2+ years of recent clinical nursing experience within the relevant specialty from a highly esteemed healthcare institution
No minimum experience requirement for University of Calgary Qatar Graduates only
Certification and Licensure
Valid professional Nursing license in country of origin

Care environment: Care of Cardiac population in Cardiac Catheterization unit and Electrophysiology laboratory.

Care of Congenital and Acquired Heart Disease, requiring but not limited:
Diagnostic Cardiac Catheterization .
Interventional Cardiac Catheterization - ASD/VSD PDA closures, valves, stents, ballooning.
Pacemaker Insertion/Battery & Lead changes.
Electrophysiology Studies/Ablations.
Pre and Post Cardiac Catheterization Care.
Temporary Pacing Wires.
Care and Transport of EPS and Pre-Post ablation patient.
Care and Transport of post Cardiac Catheterization procedure: Septostomy,
Pericardial Synthesizes.
Hemodynamically Unstable Patient(ECMO ).
Invasive Hemodynamic Monitoring( CV, All).
Cardiac Biopsy.
Recover Patient Post Anesthesia (Phase 2).

Sidra Medicine is a 400-bed women's and children's hospital, medical education and biomedical research center in Doha, Qatar. The hospital first opened its outpatient facility in 2016, followed by its inpatient hospital in January 2018. Qatar Foundation, a quasi-government organization, allotted a massive $7.9 billion budget for the hospital's construction. It first selected the center's contractors in 2008 but in 2014 assigned new contractors to complete the project. Biomedical research first began at Sidra in 2015. Outpatient care facilities and services were inaugurated in May 2016; as of 2018 there are at least 50 outpatient facilities. Throughout 2017, more than 25,000 people were treated at the hospital's outpatient clinic. On 14 January 2018, Sidra launched its inpatient hospital with 400 beds, treating 10 patients on its initial day of opening. The hospital is expected to become fully commissioned sometime in 2018, after the construction of an emergency department and the addition of further services.
