Job Description
We are seeking qualified and experienced respiratory therapists to join our team and play a vital role in providing exceptional care to patients with cardiopulmonary diseases.
Responsibilities:
Deliver a comprehensive range of respiratory care procedures as per established departmental protocols, including medical gas therapy, aerosol treatments, and bronchopulmonary hygiene.
Closely monitor patient responses and adjust treatment plans based on clinical assessments, physiological evaluations, and physician consultations.
Read, interpret, and implement physician orders. Provide mechanical ventilation support to patients and meticulously monitor their responses.
Make adjustments to ventilator settings based on patient needs, considering clinical assessments, physiological data, and consultations with physicians.
Perform both invasive and non-invasive physiological procedures (blood gas analysis, transcutaneous monitoring, end-tidal CO2 monitoring, etc.) following established guidelines.
Participate actively in developing and modifying respiratory care plans and therapeutic goals for patients with cardiopulmonary conditions.
Provide immediate support to physicians and the Code Team during cardiac or respiratory arrest situations, with a focus on airway management and blood gas analysis. You will also be a member of the Rapid Response Team.
Offer advanced emergency airway care, including intubation and tracheal suctioning, following approved protocols.
Interpret basic EKG tracings and document your clinical assessments.
Assist with pulmonary diagnostic procedures (bronchoscopy, etc.) as needed.
Contribute to the orientation and training of new employees and students as assigned.
Perform basic user maintenance and troubleshooting of commonly used respiratory care equipment.
Strictly adhere to hospital infection control and safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Associate's Degree/Diploma (North American) in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Technology (required).
Registration with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) or Canadian Society for Respiratory Therapy (CSRT) is required for North American graduates (required).
Advanced Life Support Course (ACLS) certification (required).
Pediatric Life Support Course (PALS) certification (required).
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (required).
Two (2) years of experience with a Bachelor's degree or four (4) years of experience with an Associate's Degree/Diploma (Grade 08).
Four (4) years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist at KFSH&RC with an average annual performance appraisal of at least 3.5 for the last four years, and a minimum of 50 hours of cumulative continuing medical education (CME) (Grade 09).
Current registration from the country of origin and valid registration with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) are required.
