Staff Nurse I

Responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care utilizing the nursing process and meeting established standards of nursing practice and performance. Demonstrates leadership competencies while in charge or acting as shift resource/team leader.

Brief Description:

1. Provides total patient care according to core standards and established policies.

2. Assumes accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care, including discharge planning.

3. Contributes to decreasing length of stay/waiting time in collaboration with Case Management.

4. Documents all relevant information accurately and timely.

5. Reports equipment failures, safety and security issues, and supply inventory reductions.

6. Demonstrates collaborative multi-disciplinary partnerships and acts as an advocate for patients and families.

7. Promotes a safe environment and patient care by embracing a safety culture and identifying areas of risk.

8. Contributes to cost efficiency savings and maintains awareness of resource utilization.

9. Contributes to clinical quality outcome indicators, patient satisfaction, and unit-based Performance Improvement activities.

10. Participates in orientation, precepting, and mentoring of nursing students and new staff.

11. Demonstrates transcultural principles in nursing practice.

12. Contributes to special projects/assignments linked to nursing strategic priorities and professional practice model.

13. Assists in promoting and sharing knowledge via mentorship in line with relevant research and evidence-based practice.

14. Follows all hospital-related policies and procedures.

15. Participates in self and others' education, training, and development.

16. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Detailed Description:

• Bachelor’s or Associate Degree/Diploma in Nursing is required.

• Two (2) years of Nursing experience in acute hospital with Bachelor’s or four (4) years with Associate Degree/Diploma is required. No experience is required for Saudis with Bachelor’s Degree. Enrollment in New Graduate Development Program for staff with less than one (1) year of experience is required.
