Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our team and play a critical role in providing exceptional care to our patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Personalized Respiratory Care: Perform a variety of respiratory care procedures, including medical gas therapy, aerosol treatments, and bronchopulmonary hygiene, following established protocols.

  • Patient Monitoring & Assessment: Closely monitor patient responses and adjust therapies based on clinical assessments, physiological data, and physician consultations.

  • Mechanical Ventilation Expertise: Apply and manage mechanical ventilation support for patients, meticulously monitoring their responses and adjusting settings as needed.

  • Advanced Procedures: Perform both invasive and non-invasive procedures, such as blood gas analysis and end-tidal CO2 monitoring, in accordance with established procedures.

  • Treatment Planning & Collaboration: Participate in developing and modifying respiratory care plans in collaboration with physicians to ensure optimal outcomes for patients with cardiopulmonary conditions.

  • Emergency Response: Provide direct assistance to physicians and code teams during cardiac and respiratory arrest situations, focusing on airway management and blood gas analysis. You will also be a member of the Rapid Response Team.

  • Advanced Airway Management: Provide advanced emergency airway care, including intubation and tracheal suctioning, adhering to approved protocols.

  • EKG Interpretation & Documentation: Interpret basic EKG tracings and document your clinical assessments for clear communication.

  • Pulmonary Diagnostic Support: Assist with pulmonary diagnostic procedures like bronchoscopy when needed.

  • Knowledge Sharing & Mentorship: As assigned, participate in orienting and training new employees and students in the department.

  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform basic user-maintenance and troubleshoot commonly used respiratory care equipment.

  • Safety & Compliance: Strictly adhere to all hospital infection control and safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree/Diploma (North American) in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Technology is required.

  • For Grade 08:

    • Two (2) years of experience with a Bachelor's degree or four (4) years of experience with an Associate's Degree/Diploma.

  • For Grade 09:

    • Four (4) years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist at KFSH&RC.

    • Average annual performance appraisal rating of at least 3.5 for the last four years.

    • Fifty (50) hours of cumulative continuing medical education (CME).

  • Additional Requirements:

    • Respiratory Therapy Registry (RRT) credential from NBRC or CSRT for North American graduates.

    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

    • Pediatric Life Support (PALS) certification.

    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.

    • Current registration from your country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) registration are required.
