Job Description
The Sales Engineer plays a vital role in maintaining sales volume and achieving sales quotas by identifying customer needs, providing technical information, and developing sales opportunities. They establish rapport with potential and existing customers, prepare cost estimates, and ensure compliance with legal requirements and project implementation plans.
Responsibilities:
Maintain Sales Volume: Responsible for maintaining sales volume and achieving sales quotas.
Customer Relationship Management: Identify current and future customer service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual customers and other stakeholders.
Technical Support: Provide product, service, and equipment technical and engineering information by answering questions and requests during the bidding phase.
Account Management: Establish new accounts and service existing accounts by identifying potential customers, planning, and organizing sales plans.
Cost Estimation: Prepare cost estimates by studying blueprints, plans, and related customer documents; consult with engineers, architects, and other technical personnel.
Order Submission: Submit orders by conferring with technical support staff and costing engineering changes.
Customer Training: Develop customers' employees by providing technical information and training.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with state and local legal requirements by staying updated on legislation, advising customers on adherence to requirements, and recommending actions.
Project Coordination: Coordinate with the technical office to ensure the prepared project implementation plan complies with the sales deal.
Sales Pipeline Management: Follow up regularly and update all pipeline trackers with prospect jobs to support sales activities.
Professional Development: Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and participating in professional societies.
Performance Management: Monitor the performance of Sales Engineers if required and assess their performance.
