Job DescriptionTeam Lead -Smart Technologies leads a team of communication, telecom and security engineers responsible for delivering projects from inception to completion within civil infrastructure business. Requires a broad multi-disciplinary knowledge of civil infrastructure projects. Should be considered a subject matter expert in smart technologies (ICT, ITS, TCS, Security systems) field.

• Supervises groups of engineers and technicians and coordinates the activities. Accountable for the team's utilisation targets.

• Ensures that project design team complies with project execution plans, including design management, project management and BIM management plans, and adhere to the project delivery process. Provides input to the development of the engineering budget and schedule to meet project deliverable requirements.

• Carries out performance reviews of the staff within the team and acts as a mentor. Able to monitor and track the budget for the overall project of their specific discipline.

• Responsible for the design of Smart Technologies within infrastructure projects.

• Information and communication technology (ICT).

• Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)

• Traffic Control Systems (TCS)

• Security Strategy.

• Security active components.

• Smart city services covering all civil works, cabling, sensors/devices, and network requirements.

• Must have experience of working on land development projects within Middle East.

• Must have experience of working on all stages of projects from master planning stage through to detailed design.

• Experienced in devising innovative solutions for the smart city application.

• Should have experience in designing for smart solution for utilities such as water and power infrastructure.

• Experience of planning and designing for all extra low voltage systems.

• Excellent report writing skills, prepares technical specifications and completes feasibility studies. Performs quality reviews of design calculations and drawings by following policies and procedures and serves as Lead Verifier, confirming that the technical approach satisfies the client scope of services and expectations.

• Contributes as an in-house expert on specific technologies. Develops solutions to complex and challenging issues using engineering methodologies.

• Supports the team on complex projects by appointing the right resources and implementing budget control.

• Should be able to act as Project Manager on mid to large size discipline-specific projects.

• Has an excellent understanding of project delivery requirements.

• Assists with proposals to provide services for projects and participates in bids and proposals. Leads communication with clients to discuss work scope, requests information to support project execution and resolve client comments.

• Presents to clients, senior leadership, and other project stakeholders to demonstrate progress and clearly explain design principles.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Communication, Technology or Equivalent 15 years design experience in engineering consultancy.

• Chartered or Professional Engineer status.

• Minimum 5 years Middle East (UAE & KSA) experience.

• Approved by relevant authorities in UAE.
