Current Opening: Assistant Resident Engineer (Structures) - Highways & Bridges (Bahrain)

Are you a driven civil engineer with a passion for bridge construction?

We're seeking a highly motivated Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE) to join our team in Bahrain. You'll play a vital role in overseeing the construction of a highways and bridges project, ensuring quality and adherence to specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a team of site engineers and inspectors.

  • Oversee all construction activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and Ministry of Works requirements.

  • Manage contract administration, including change orders, invoices, and progress payments.

  • Conduct quality assurance inspections, monitor construction progress, and address non-conformance reports.

  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, and correspondence.

  • Lead weekly progress meetings and ensure effective communication with all stakeholders.

  • Manage project safety protocols and report on safety violations.

  • Contribute to the development and mentoring of staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (required).

  • Master's degree in Engineering and PMP certification (preferred).

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in civil engineering and bridge construction projects.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience supervising the construction of cable-stayed bridges, marine bridges, grade-separated junctions, and highway works (critical).

  • Experience with FIDIC or equivalent construction contracts (a plus).

  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client coordination skills.

  • Strong reporting and writing skills.

  • Proactive, adaptable, and a motivated team player.

This is a 36-month project-specific opportunity with the potential to extend to wider projects in the region.
