Current Opening: Assistant Resident Engineer (Structures) - Highways & Bridges (Bahrain)
Are you a driven civil engineer with a passion for bridge construction?
We're seeking a highly motivated Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE) to join our team in Bahrain. You'll play a vital role in overseeing the construction of a highways and bridges project, ensuring quality and adherence to specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise a team of site engineers and inspectors.
Oversee all construction activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and Ministry of Works requirements.
Manage contract administration, including change orders, invoices, and progress payments.
Conduct quality assurance inspections, monitor construction progress, and address non-conformance reports.
Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, and correspondence.
Lead weekly progress meetings and ensure effective communication with all stakeholders.
Manage project safety protocols and report on safety violations.
Contribute to the development and mentoring of staff.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (required).
Master's degree in Engineering and PMP certification (preferred).
Minimum 12 years of experience in civil engineering and bridge construction projects.
Minimum 5 years of experience supervising the construction of cable-stayed bridges, marine bridges, grade-separated junctions, and highway works (critical).
Experience with FIDIC or equivalent construction contracts (a plus).
Proven ability to lead and manage a team in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client coordination skills.
Strong reporting and writing skills.
Proactive, adaptable, and a motivated team player.
This is a 36-month project-specific opportunity with the potential to extend to wider projects in the region.
