Subject Matter Expert - Net Zero and Decarbonization

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance and technical support on net-zero emissions strategies and decarbonization initiatives to clients.

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1, 2, and 3) and develop customized decarbonization roadmaps and action plans to achieve net-zero emissions targets.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify and prioritize low-carbon and renewable energy solutions and energy efficiency measures.

• Lead or contribute to the development and implementation of carbon offset projects, renewable energy procurement strategies, and emission reduction programs.

• Engage with stakeholders to promote awareness and build consensus on net-zero emissions and decarbonization strategies.

• Stay informed about the latest trends, innovations, and best practices in the field of climate change mitigation, including carbon capture and storage, nature-based solutions, and sustainable land use.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree in environmental science, sustainability, energy management, or a related field.

• 20+ years of experience working on climate change mitigation and decarbonization projects, preferably in a consulting or advisory capacity.

• Strong knowledge of greenhouse gas accounting methodologies, carbon foot printing tools, and emission reduction strategies.

• Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing net-zero emissions strategies, decarbonization plans, and climate action initiatives.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment and engage effectively with clients and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.

• Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools, climate modeling software, and sustainability reporting frameworks is a plus.
