Subject Matter Expert - Sustainability

• Provide expert guidance and technical support on sustainability initiatives and programs to clients across various sectors.

• Conduct research and analysis on emerging trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to sustainability and environmental management.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement sustainability strategies, goals, and action plans to reduce environmental impacts and promote social responsibility.

• Lead or contribute to sustainability assessments, audits, and certifications, such as LEED, BREEAM, or ISO 14001, to evaluate and improve environmental performance.

• Support the development and implementation of corporate sustainability reporting and disclosure frameworks, including GRI, CDP, and SASB.

• Provide training, capacity building, and knowledge transfer to stakeholders on sustainability-related topics, including energy efficiency, waste reduction, and sustainable procurement.

• Stay informed about the latest trends, innovations, and best practices in the field of sustainability, including renewable energy, circular economy, and sustainable finance.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree in environmental science, sustainability, environmental management, or a related field.

• 20+ years of experience working on sustainability-related projects, preferably in a consulting or advisory capacity.

• Strong knowledge of sustainability principles, frameworks, and standards, including environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001) and sustainability reporting guidelines (e.g., GRI Standards).

• Demonstrated expertise in sustainability strategy development, implementation, and performance measurement, including carbon foot printing, life cycle assessment, and stakeholder engagement.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment and engage effectively with clients and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.

• Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools, sustainability software platforms, and sustainability reporting frameworks is a plus.
