Job Description
Accountabilities and Activities:
1. Project Management Across Sustainability Initiatives:
Develop and implement comprehensive project plans for the Sustainability Division’s sustainability initiatives.
Monitor project progress, addressing potential delays and budget issues.
Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure project alignment with the Environment Authority’s strategic goals.
Prepare and present regular progress reports to the Sustainability Director and other executive management members.
2. Economic and Commercial Viability:
Conduct financial analysis to ensure the economic feasibility of NEOM’s sustainability projects that are within the scope of the Sustainability Division and Environment Authority.
Collaborate with internal and external financial experts to align sustainability projects with NEOM’s commercial goals.
Identify and pursue funding and investment opportunities for sustainability projects managed by the NEOM Environment Authority.
Conduct benchmark studies and develop cost-benefit analyses for each project to ensure economic viability and report findings to the Sustainability Director, and other members of executive management.
3. Stakeholder Participation and Buy-In:
Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government entities, NGOs, and NEOM's regions and sectors.
Organize stakeholder meetings and workshops to gather input and foster collaboration.
Develop engagement strategies to ensure stakeholder awareness and engagement.
Implement feedback mechanisms to incorporate stakeholder insights into project plans.
Monitor and report on the progress for stakeholder participation and implementation to the Sustainability Director, and other members of executive management.
4. Team Management and Capacity Building:
Lead, mentor, and evaluate the performance of specialist, analyst and junior staff.
Identify training needs and organize capacity-building programs for any direct reports.
Foster a collaborative team environment conducive to knowledge sharing and innovation.
Regularly review team structure, and roles, including the scope and role of consultancies, to ensure alignment with project goals and report progress and recommendations to the Sustainability Director.
5. Management of Consultancies:
Manage relationships with external consultancies to support project objectives.
Oversee the work of consultants, ensuring deliverables meet quality and time expectations.
Facilitate the integration of consultancy inputs into project strategies.
Evaluate consultancy performance and provide feedback for future engagements and provide performance reports to the Sustainability Director.
6. Sustainability Compliance and Economic Impact:
Ensure all projects comply with relevant environmental and sustainability regulations of NEOM.
Develop sustainability reporting mechanisms to monitor and report on the economic/ financial/ commercial viability of project impacts for the sustainability projects of the Environment Authority.
Stay updated with global sustainability trends and incorporate best practices.
Collaborate with NEOM's legal team to address any compliance issues or risks.
Collaborate with NEOM's environment company to address any operational and/ or implementation issues.
7. Ad Hoc Support and Strategic Input:
Provide strategic input to the Sustainability Director for decision-making processes.
Offer ad hoc support on various sustainability- and economic-impact-related issues as they arise.
Participate in strategic planning sessions for long-term sustainability goals.
Assist in the development of policies and procedures to enhance sustainability practices.

BACKGROUND, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge and Experience
Minimum of 20 years of relevant experience, with at least 10 years in a managerial role.
Strong financial background with proven experience in economic analysis of large-scale and mega-projects projects.
In-depth knowledge of sustainability practices, environmental compliance, carbon management, and responsible procurement.
Demonstrated experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing complex projects.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Familiarity with the NEOM project's vision and objectives is highly desirable.
Education and Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Environment, sustainability, or accounting (or related discipline) and ideally an MBA or MSc
