Design Director

Responsibilities:

• Act as the design ambassador for assigned projects, translating design goals into reality.

• Oversee the selection process for design consultants, from initial outreach to contract execution.

• Manage internal design reviews and ensure design quality throughout the project lifecycle.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, development, construction) on strategy, budget, and execution.

• Review and provide feedback on design deliverables.

• Lead the development and implementation of design guidelines for TROJENA projects.

• Provide strategic design leadership and hands-on implementation across various design workstreams.

• Ensure alignment of TROJENA Asset briefs, designs, and specifications with individual sector strategies.

• Oversee the quality of design delivery from all consultants, throughout all project phases.

• Implement and maintain procedures for high design quality, reliability, and safety.

• Establish and maintain design development, change control, and progress monitoring procedures.

• Monitor and report on design process performance and identify areas for improvement.

• Integrate quality and safety requirements into the design process, adhering to regulations and best practices.

• Evaluate and implement new techniques for design control, quality, and safety.

• Contribute to the development and annual operational business plans for TROJENA's design activities.

• Prepare comprehensive reports providing a clear overview of the design process, identifying critical issues and recommending actions.

• Participate in the review of Asset design briefs to ensure alignment with NEOM Mountain's objectives.

• Champion sustainable design practices, ensuring projects meet or exceed NEOM's sustainability standards.

• Integrate design programs from various disciplines into a cohesive development plan.

• Review and ensure the validity of sales promotions, marketing, and advertising campaigns.

• Collaborate with internal and external teams to achieve design, technical, and quality specifications.

• Foster collaboration across development disciplines to deliver projects on time and within budget.

• Manage cross-functional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

• Contribute to TROJENA's strategic goals by providing design management expertise.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or Interior Design (required).

• Minimum 15 years of experience in design leadership, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional design for commercial projects (required).

• Experience with a wide range of design disciplines, including interior architecture, wayfinding, lighting, and FF&E (required).

• Exemplary project management skills, including organization, time management, communication, and collaboration (required).

• Strong leadership skills to set goals, motivate teams, and achieve results under pressure (required).

• Demonstrated ability to work across design disciplines with architects, engineers, and designers (required).

• Experience working in the GCC or MENA region (preferred).

• Ability to work effectively with diverse and cross-functional teams (required).
