Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable IT Equipment Relocation Technician to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and secure transfer of IT equipment, including computers, monitors, servers, and other electronic devices, during office relocations. You will ensure the efficient packing, transportation, setup, and functionality of all equipment at the new location, minimizing downtime for the company. Your experience with electronic wiring management will be crucial for maintaining organization and functionality during the relocation process.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the IT department to develop a plan for equipment relocation, considering data security, functionality, and cabling needs.
Carefully pack and secure equipment for transport using anti-static materials and appropriate packing techniques, ensuring proper coiling and organization of cables.
Disconnect and reconnect electronic cables meticulously, following established procedures and maintaining proper labeling for easy reassembly.
Load, unload, and transport equipment safely, ensuring protection from damage during the move.
Set up equipment at the new location, following established procedures and ensuring proper functionality, including cable management for optimal performance.
Conduct basic functionality tests on equipment to ensure proper operation after relocation.
Maintain clear and accurate documentation throughout the relocation process, including cable layouts and connections.
SkillsMinimum of 1 year of experience in IT support or a related field.
Working knowledge of common computer hardware, peripherals, and network cabling systems.
Experience with proper packing and handling techniques for electronic equipment, including cable management.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to lift and carry moderate weight (up to 50 lbs).
Valid driver's license may be preferred (depending on the company).
Minimum of 1 year of experience in IT support or a related field.
Working knowledge of common computer hardware, peripherals, and network cabling systems.
Experience with proper packing and handling techniques for electronic equipment, including cable management.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
