Senior Safety Engineer

Primary Objectives / Responsibilities:

• Support adherence to engineering and design practices, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.

• Standardize equipment specifications, drawings, and document templates.

• Contribute to technical knowledge, legal requirements, and customer specifications.

• Use local/global standards to support technical excellence.

• Support processes for checking, peer reviews, and incorporation of comments.

• Ensure recognized onshore & offshore engineering safety practices are adopted.

• Develop design and operational engineering studies in the areas of risk and safety.

• Design Safety & Risk scope of work in contracts and optimize project cost and schedule.

• Gather and compile safety and environmental information.

• Prepare and execute hazard studies, HSE checklists, and design basis reviews.

Job Specific Knowledge:

• Demonstrate commitment to HSE management in a project environment.

• Intermediate understanding of regulations, codes, and industry standard practices.

• Good understanding of onshore & offshore engineering practices for Safety & Risk design.

• Experience in developing Safety & Risk Engineering deliverables.

• Moderate level knowledge in Safety & Risk Engineering and Studies.

Qualifications:

• Engineering experience in Brown Field oil and gas related Safety & Risk Design and Engineering.

• Experience in multi-disciplinary projects and teams.

• Middle East experience is an advantage.

• Full-Time Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering.

• MME (Ministry of Municipality and Environment) engineering accreditation required.

• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or undertaking is an advantage.

• Pipe net, PHAST, SAFETI, PHA Pro, Flare Sim, Detect3D, exSILentia.
