Job Description
Manages the maintenance of various heavy equipment.
Work involves overseeing staff involved in the installation, care, and repair of heavy equipment/machinery and supervising the work of others.
Works under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Oversees, manages, inspects, schedules, assigns, prioritizes, and supports a team of mechanics in heavy equipment maintenance, general maintenance; coordinates work assignments with other supervisors to ensure efficient use of resources; and provides technical expertise.
Oversees the preparation of estimates for work hours, materials, and resources required for maintenance; approves and initiates requisitions for materials and supplies; and prepares reports and maintains records of repairs.
Trains and supervises maintenance workers; and ensures compliance with applicable safety rules, regulations, and standards.
