Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented buyer to join our team and play a vital role in managing the procurement process for our global operations.
Responsibilities:
Oversee all procurement and sourcing activities for materials and products, ensuring they align with company needs and customer requirements.
Prepare, issue, and manage purchase orders for various purposes, including production materials, shop floor stock items, and other operational needs.
Pre-qualify vendors and manage vendor relationships to secure the best quality, pricing, and delivery terms.
Monitor purchase order deliveries to ensure timely receipt of materials.
Procure all necessary raw materials to support production activities.
Analyze and issue purchase orders for required services.
Initiate and manage cost-saving projects focused on direct materials procurement.
Maintain standard payment terms and manage all related documentation.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date material traceability data, including MTRs, lot numbers, and other relevant information.
Actively develop and qualify new vendors to expand the supplier base.
Regularly analyze vendor performance, cost efficiency, and product quality to identify improvement opportunities.
Review key metrics such as cost savings, vendor performance, late purchase orders, job close variances, and inventory levels to ensure efficient operations.
Act as a liaison between Procurement and other departments to facilitate smooth collaboration.
Manage third-party and intercompany orders to ensure timely procurement and customer deliveries. Maintain accurate data related to all intercompany sources.
Qualifications:
Strong technical knowledge of commodities and related procured materials (required).
Proven ability to coordinate and execute multiple projects simultaneously while working independently (required).
Adaptability to a dynamic work environment with competing demands (required).
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills (required).
Ability to understand and interpret technical documentation and standards, including drawings and specifications (required).
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and proficiency in using Excel (required).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (required).
Previous experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system (preferred), with Oracle experience being a plus.
