CNC Machinist (Rotatory Shoulder connections, Drill, Fanuc & Mazak)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operate CNC machines according to work instructions/drawings to machine components, with intermittent supervisory checks.

2. Ensure proper use of measuring equipment to maximize productivity.

3. Perform programming, basic maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Specific Tasks:

• Follow all safety rules and policies provided by NOV.

• Set up the machine as per requirements/specifications to ensure proper working order.

• Produce/machine threaded connections (API, GP, and others) and parts as per provided drawings and programs.

• Inspect and verify that each thread and part meets provided specifications.

• Ensure regular and preventive maintenance procedures are carried out during each shift.

• Record all dimensional parameters in the process sheet.

• Create and maintain daily activity logs.

• Identify and report drawing errors and suggest improvements.

• Maintain a healthy, safe, neat, and tidy workplace.

• Carry out any other duties as required by the Machine Shop Supervisor/Manager or their designee.

• Know and understand company safety and environmental rules and regulations.

• Report to immediate supervisor/manager during emergency situations.

• Participate in and contribute to the review of Risk Assessment & Impact Aspects.

• Attend all HSEMS and QMS trainings planned by QA, Safety, and HR.

• Know and understand safe working procedures for the work area.

• Recognize environmental, health, and safety hazards.

Experience/Education/Skill-Set Required:

Essential:

• Able to work under own initiative.

• Operating and setting up CNC machines for threading and turning.

• Generating CNC programs using pre-defined programs.

• Cutting and inspecting RSC connections such as GP, API, DS1, etc.

• Higher Secondary Certificate/Technical OR Relevant Work Experience/Training.

• Minimum 2 years of experience operating a CNC machine on Rotary Shoulder Connection (API, Grant Prideco, Tenaris, VAM, etc.).

• Knowledge of CNC tool setting.

• Able to interpret engineering drawings & specifications to API, Grant Prideco, DS1, VAM, etc.

• Able to use a wide variety of measuring equipment.

• Minimum knowledge of English (verbal & writing).

Desirable:

• Diploma of Mechanical Engineering.

• Knowledge of machining threaded connections on Drill Pipe, Tubulars, and OCTG material.

• Knowledge of Fanuc & Mazak control and CNC programming.
