Job Title: Research Associate

Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Reporting To: Dr. Asif Equbal (or designee)

Contract: Two years, with possible extension upon review

Start Date: Spring 2024 (flexible based on candidate)

Summary:

This position is for a Research Associate to join a team exploring quantum sensing hyperpolarization for biomedical imaging at NYU Abu Dhabi's CQTS. You will be involved in theoretical research using advanced quantum mechanics frameworks and computational techniques to understand electron spin dynamics.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct numerical simulations of electron spin hyperpolarization in various materials.

  • Develop theoretical models using quantum mechanics principles.

  • Analyze data and contribute to the development of quantum sensors for MRI.

  • Collaborate with the research team on interdisciplinary projects.

  • Prepare research papers and presentations for publication and dissemination.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Quantum Physics (or closely related field) from a recognized institution.

  • Strong theoretical background and proficiency in quantum mechanics.

  • Knowledge of open quantum systems and perturbation theory.

  • Experience with computational techniques for scientific simulations (desirable).

  • Prior experience in quantum experiments (a plus).
