Job Title: Research Assistant
Organization: Center for Technology and Economic Development (CTED) at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD)
Duration: One-year period
Job Description:
The Research Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting CTED's research efforts, focusing on labor migration and commodities markets under the direction of Principal Investigator Dr. Yaw Nyarko. Responsibilities include conducting research, data analysis, literature reviews, translation of findings, and assisting with field work related to commodities markets research. The ideal candidate will possess strong writing skills, experience with statistical software (STATA and Matlab), and familiarity with CTED's research projects.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, or related field.
Experience conducting field research in emerging countries and working on randomized controlled trials (RCTs) preferred.
Proficiency in STATA and Matlab.
Interest in economic and quantitative research.
Knowledge of commodities markets, labor migration, and technology and economic development a plus.
Responsibilities:
Assist Principal Investigator with field research projects.
Conduct data analysis and prepare literature reviews.
Translate research findings and assist with commodities markets research.
Generate research reports, concept notes, and academic papers.
