High School Science Teacher (Grades 9th – 12th)

DarusSalam Seminary is seeking an energetic and dedicated individual to serve as a High School Science Teacher (Grades 9th – 12th). The assignment will start in Summer 2022. We are seeking a creative, organized, team-oriented individual with good communication skills to join our growing and devoted teaching staff. Proficiency in using computers and technology as adjuncts to teaching is required. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Instructional: 

• Classroom instruction of a Physiology & Health, Biology, and Chemistry curriculum. 
• Prepare thoughtful, polished, motivating lectures for the curriculum. 
• Employ a variety of teaching methods that reflect student aptitudes, learning styles, and backgrounds. 
• Utilize a variety of assessment tools to assess student progress and develop additional instructional activities as needed. 

Teaching and Learning Environment: 

• Create a motivating and positive classroom environment. 
• Demonstrate classroom management skills. 
• Set clear classwork and homework expectations. 
• Maintain current textbooks and instructional resources that support classroom learning. 
• Strive to understand students’ strengths and challenges and cooperate with the student, parents, and administration in finding solutions to student challenges. 
• Address parents’ queries and concerns in a timely and professional manner. 
• Communicate and cooperate with colleagues and administrative staff in furthering the greater mission of the institution. 

Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) 
• Prior teaching experience
