Job Description

We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Respiratory Technician to join our team at Respiratory Clinical Care in Riyadh, SA. You will play a vital role in providing respiratory care to patients under the supervision of a Respiratory Therapist. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a team environment and make a positive impact on patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform all basic RCS modalities on clinically stable patients, including:

    • Oxygen therapy

    • Non-invasive monitoring

    • Patient assessment

    • Bland aerosol delivery

    • Medication delivery via SVN and MDI with spacers

  • Perform chest physiotherapy techniques like percussion, postural drainage, PEP mask, resistive devices, incentive spirometry, etc.

  • Set up and manage non-invasive ventilation (CPAP and BiPAP) for stable patients.

  • Perform suctioning of intubated and non-intubated patients, and routine tracheostomy changes.

  • Document patient responses and treatment efficacy in medical records.

  • Perform arterial blood gas sampling and analysis, including blood gas acid-base determinations, co-oximetry, and Na+/K+ determinations.

  • Participate in CPR and emergency airway management protocols.

  • Maintain and stock ventilators at the bedside, clean and prepare equipment for sterilization, and assist with disassembly, cleaning/decontamination, and reassembly of RCS equipment.

  • Conduct routine equipment maintenance and manage RCS workroom supplies.

  • Assist in maintaining the preventive maintenance schedule for RCS equipment.

  • Report patient and staff-related issues, problems, and results to the therapist and supervisor.

  • Assist in the education and development of new employees and students.

  • Participate in self and team education and training programs.

  • Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 7:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Care (Non-Saudis) OR Graduate of an accredited Saudi Respiratory Technician program.

    • One (1) year of related experience with a Bachelor's degree or two (2) years with an accredited Respiratory Care program.

  • Grade 8:

    • Four (4) years of experience as a Respiratory Technician at KFSH&RC.

    • Average annual performance appraisal of at least (3.5) for the last four (4) years.

    • Fifty (50) hours of cumulative continuing medical education (CME) credits.

Additional Requirements:

  • Current registration from the country of origin and the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS).

  • Respiratory Therapy Certification License from the country of origin.

  • Certification in Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

  • Endotracheal intubation training (preferred).
