Head, Patient Health Education

1. Evaluates and identify health concerns to address with the Hospital’s patient population.

2. Develops patient education programs through consultation with physicians and liaising with patients and their families to identify needs.

3. Ensures that programs are accessible to all patients by making them available in other languages.

4. Gains an understanding of the ways in which patients’ culture and religion can affect their understanding of and receptivity to educational materials, adapting materials in order to meet patient needs.

5. Involves patients’ family and caregivers by providing them with education and resources for offering optimal support to promote recovery.

6. Evaluates and adapts programs on a regular basis to reflect changes in patient attitudes, health needs and updated medical recommendations.

7. Offers a variety of health education materials, including brochures, videos and individual programs.

8. Monitors and documents outcomes of patient education initiatives and modify as needed to improve outcomes.

9. Maintains current knowledge of professional standards by participating in networking, organizations and continued education.
Detailed Description
Master’s, or Bachelor’s Degree in Health Education, or other related discipline is required.
Job Requirements
Nine (9) years of related experience with Master's, or eleven (11) years with Bachelor’s Degree, including four (4) years in a senior/ supervisory capacity is required
