Job Description
Aligned with the mission, vision, and values of KAAUH, the Division of Emergency Medical Services delivers professional pre-hospital and in-hospital emergency care, adhering to established standards, protocols, and procedures within the scope of practice of the Paramedic.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
1. Clinical Practice:
Provide high-quality patient care, both pre-hospital and in-hospital, adhering to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
Maintain awareness of patients' physical, medical, and cultural needs.
Operate and maintain EMS vehicles and equipment properly.
Prepare and complete required reports while maintaining patient confidentiality.
2. Administration:
Ensure EMS vehicles, equipment, and supplies are in a constant state of readiness.
Adhere to and implement EMS administrative and medical control directives.
Complete administrative and clinical functions as assigned.
3. Education & Research:
Attend skills maintenance programs and maintain professional licensure and certifications.
Participate in the development and presentation of educational awareness programs.
Assist in the orientation and professional development of other EMS personnel.
Attend professional development courses and participate in research programs.
4. Quality:
Provide continuous feedback to improve working environment and patient care.
Strive to deliver a higher level of quality care and utilize medical supplies properly.
Assist in situational problem-solving and resource utilization.
5. Professionalism:
Work in partnership with EMS team members and other healthcare professionals.
Promote a positive attitude within the EMS team and maintain a professional image.
Respect patients and their families to promote a patient-centered care culture.
Job Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in EMS or Nursing with EMS certificate.
Valid SCFHS Certificate.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, PHTLS, AMLS.
Critical Care EMT-Paramedic certification.
Valid driver's license.
Experience:
No prior experience required.
