Job Description
The Project Manager is responsible for leading the projects team from the planning phase through commissioning to the final execution. This role involves monitoring staff development and performance, reviewing technical/administrative support, and managing all administrative work within the department and related hospital departments.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
Manage the Projects Department, determine duties and activities of the Project staff, including hospital engineering functions, and production of relevant documents such as Request for Proposal (RFP) for larger alterations and new works.
Ensure execution of minor alterations and new works according to agreed schedules, economical costs, local regulations, and international standards.
Develop detailed Bill of Quantity (BOQ) and project costing for initial budgeting.
Oversee the Projects Department's annual operating budget.
Initiate and participate in bid evaluation for alterations and new works, selecting suitable contractors.
Evaluate construction methods and implement improvements.
Supervise Facility Projects' daily work and report progress to ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
Monitor application of Quality Improvement & Patient Safety (QI&PS) and quality control measures by staff, contractors, and subcontractors.
Assist the Department Director in daily administrative duties.
Assess individual team members to determine work efficiencies.
Liaise with Contractor's departmental managers to ensure timely procurement of materials and spare parts.
Available for emergency on-call duties.
Motivate departmental staff by effectively leading and directing them to perform to the best of their abilities.
Prepare data for Director of Engineering and Support Services to prepare annual project budgets and submissions.
Suggest improvements in project methods and implementation.
Provide advice and consult with other Heads of subordinate sections.
Participate in solving staff issues and developing department plans.
Serve on KAAUH committees as requested.
Respect patients and promote a patient-centered care culture.
Participate in quality improvement and patient safety activities.
Perform other tasks assigned by the Director, Engineering and Support Services.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum or Required:
Bachelor's Degree in mechanical, manufacturing, electrical, or electronic engineering or equivalent, with 9 years of experience.
Saudi Council for Engineers Accreditation.
OR
Master's Degree in mechanical, manufacturing, electrical, or electronic engineering or equivalent, with 7 years of experience.
Saudi Council for Engineers Accreditation.
Preferred:
OSHA or NFPA accreditation safety training programs or equivalent.
PMP Certified.
