Compliance & Authorisation Specialist - EK SkyCargo

The Opportunity:

In this leadership role, you'll be responsible for overseeing all customs clearance and trade compliance activities for Emirates SkyCargo's express and courier services. You'll ensure legal compliance across various regulations, manage internal and external teams, and implement best practices to optimize operations.

What You'll Do:

• Compliance Leadership:

  • Oversee internal and third-party teams handling customs clearance and trade compliance.

  • Monitor performance against key metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement sustainable solutions.

  • Manage compliance systems and vendors, ensuring they meet SkyCargo's express requirements.

  • Design and validate processes for legal and trade compliance, authorizing express products and commodities.

  • Lead change management initiatives and conduct risk assessments to adapt to evolving regulations.

  • Develop and maintain corporate policies and procedures for handling embargoes, export controls, and dual-use goods.

• Team Leadership & Coaching:

  • Lead and coach your team on global and domestic trade regulations, budgetary control, and internal customer service delivery systems.

  • Ensure your team stays up-to-date on industry knowledge and best practices.

• Customer Focus:

  • Investigate and address customer complaints related to customs clearance and trade compliance.

  • Implement effective service recovery measures to maintain customer satisfaction.

• Communication & Collaboration:

  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory authorities, to ensure adherence to policies and achieve service excellence.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a relevant field (Logistics, International Trade, etc.)

• Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics/express & courier operations.

Competitive Advantages:

• Prior experience with customs clearance and trade compliance in the express/courier industry.

• In-depth knowledge of global import and export regulations.

• Thorough understanding of trade compliance, embargoes, export controls, dual-use goods, and validations.

• Working knowledge of IATA regulations.

• Customer-centric approach with a commitment to strict enforcement of regulations.

• Change management and risk assessment experience.
