Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team and oversee all aspects of our financial operations.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and company policies.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Assist in developing annual budgets and financial forecasts.
Monitor variances between actual and budgeted results.
Provide actionable insights to support business decisions.
General Ledger Management:
Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger.
Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
This includes invoice processing, payment disbursements, and collections.
Fixed Assets Management:
Maintain and update records of fixed assets, including depreciation schedules and asset disposals.
Internal Controls:
Develop and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
Tax Compliance:
Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants.
Ensure timely and accurate tax filings and compliance with all tax regulations.
Financial Analysis:
Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions.
Identify trends and recommend improvements in financial performance.
Team Leadership:
Provide guidance and support to other accounting staff.
Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
Systems & Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for improvement in financial processes.
Implement solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field (required).
CPA or CMA certification (preferred).
5+ years of experience in accounting, preferably within the construction or heavy equipment rental industry (required).
In-depth understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Oracle NetSuite).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
