Garden Supervisor

Responsibilities:

• Garden Maintenance: Supervise and participate in the upkeep of gardens, including planting, watering, weeding, pruning, and pest control.

• Planning and Organization: Develop schedules and plans for garden maintenance activities, taking into account seasonal variations and special events. Coordinate with other departments to align garden activities with broader organizational goals.

• Budget Management: Monitor garden-related expenses and manage resources effectively to ensure cost-effective operations. Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies without compromising quality.

• Plant Selection and Care: Select appropriate plants for the garden environment, considering factors such as soil conditions, climate, and aesthetics. Monitor plant health and implement strategies to ensure optimal growth and appearance.

• Design and Development: Contribute to the design and development of garden spaces, collaborating with landscape architects and other stakeholders to create visually appealing and functional layouts.

• Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all garden activities. Implement procedures to minimize risks to staff, visitors, and the environment.

• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of garden activities, including planting schedules, maintenance logs, and inventory levels.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Botany, Landscape Design, or a related field (preferred).

• Proven experience in garden management, including supervision of staff and maintenance of large-scale outdoor spaces.

• Strong knowledge of plant care techniques, including identification, propagation, and pest management.

• Creativity and attention to detail in garden design and maintenance.

• Commitment to environmental sustainability and stewardship of natural resources.
