Job Description
The role of a Projects Planner for Industrial Water Treatment Plants is to oversee and manage the financial and operational aspects of projects related to the design, construction, and operation of water treatment plants for industrial purposes. This position requires a strong understanding of project management principles, project planning, financial analysis, and technical knowledge of water treatment processes.
Responsibilities:
Establish and follow the project schedule (using Primavera)
Gather actual data, update project schedule and develop reliable schedule forecast with support from project team.
Lead development of baseline schedule and support Project Manager (PM) in Integrated Baseline Review (IBR).
Develop weekly and monthly progress reports for clients and internal use.
Excellent knowledge in identifying the critical path (s) of any project and utilize the information to support the project manager in guiding the milestones achievement.
Develop and Track project goals and time based objectives.
Monitor and analyze project effectiveness using qualitative and quantitative tools.
Recommend and implement modifications to improve effectiveness and attain project milestones.
Plan, coordinate and monitor activities of assigned projects to develop and implement procedures, processes and systems.
Develop and maintain project budgets, ensuring accurate cost estimation and forecasting.
Support the Project Manager to monitor project expenses, track variances, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Support the Project manager to conduct financial analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize project profitability.
Project Planning and Control:
Develop project schedules, including task sequencing, resource and cost allocation, and timeline.
Monitor project progress against the plan, identifying any deviations and implementing corrective actions.
Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project risks.
Implement project control tools and techniques to monitor and track project performance.
Contract Management:
Review and analyze project contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with procurement teams to manage vendor contracts and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
Support the Project manager to monitor contract performance, resolve any disputes, and manage change orders.
Stakeholder Management:
Communicate regularly with project stakeholders, providing updates on project status, risks, delays , milestones achievement and issues.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and contractors, to ensure project objectives are met.
Facilitate effective communication and coordination between project team members.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, financial records, progress reports , updated programs, time impact analysis and project reports.
Prepare regular project progress reports, highlighting key milestones, risks, and issues
Lead the weekly project planning review and participate in finding solutions to mitigate delays from planning perspective such as but not limited to evaluating crushed programs , sequencing change of activities , float management …
Ensure compliance with internal and external reporting requirements.
Requirements:
Strong financial acumen and experience in budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis.
Excellent knowledge of project management principles and methodologies.
Familiarity with water treatment processes and technologies.
Proficient in project planning software and tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Ability to manage and follow multiple projects.
Strong knowledge in design and engineering activities sequencing.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, planning management or a related field.Proven experience in project controls and management, preferably in the industrial water treatment sector.
