Job Description
The Mechanical and Electrical Technician is responsible for ensuring the correctness and proper installation of system materials according to approved construction drawings, performing various mechanical and electrical tasks, and maintaining tools and equipment. This role involves coordination with site personnel, performing internal testing and troubleshooting, and adhering to safety protocols.
Key ResponsibilitiesDrawings and SpecificationsVerify that drawings are approved for construction (AFC).
Check the correctness of system materials with the right specifications and complete accessories according to the drawings.
Fabrication and InstallationPerform pre-fabrication tasks including cutting, grooving, threading, and welding of pipes and tubes.
Execute installations including 1st, 2nd, and 3rd fix, ensuring proper connection and termination.
Coordination and ModificationsCoordinate site modifications with the concerned Foreman/Site Engineer prior to implementation.
Testing and TroubleshootingConduct internal testing including troubleshooting, cable tests, line flushing, hydro tests, and pressure tests.
Assemble all kinds of skids including internal piping, tubing, cabling, valves, and instruments, ensuring proper testing and labeling.
Maintenance and RepairsPerform all types of termination and labeling.
Execute maintenance service requests as assigned.
Conduct normal electrical repair, assembly, maintenance, and testing assignments.
Tool and Equipment ManagementUse and maintain the right tools and equipment for the appropriate application.
Ensure tools and equipment are serviced and cleaned regularly.
Safety and ProtectionFollow personal safety and protection procedures against possible hazards.
Ensure the safety of self and co-workers, including the use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
Mechanical Assembly and MaintenancePerform mechanical tasks such as dismantling, repair, welding, installation, alignment, cleaning, and lubrication.
Provide 24-hour emergency maintenance service as scheduled.
Additional DutiesPerform other related duties as requested.
Skills
Technical SkillsKnowledge of electrical/instrumentation installation.
Proficient in visual inspection and diagnosis.
Familiarity with equipment calibration.
