Job Description

QatarEnergy is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to lead the development and implementation of improved procedures for subsea inspections within the EPRS Club. This role will be crucial in ensuring the timely and safe identification of reported damages during subsea incidents.

Job Summary:

  • Develop and manage the implementation plan for the EPRS Club Subsea Inspection Improvement Project.

  • Establish and standardize requirements, procedures, and protocols for subsea incident inspections.

  • Coordinate with Club members and service providers to ensure effective communication and interface protocols.

  • Develop and maintain UWI (Underwater Inspection) contracts for incident response.

  • Oversee the planning and execution of subsea response and recovery projects involving underwater inspections.

  • Liaise with other technical specialists and leaders within the EPRS Club Enhancement Project.

  • Maintain a balance between quality, cost, and schedule while adhering to project management principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategy and Planning:

    • Develop goals and objectives for the EPRS Club Subsea Inspection Improvement Project.

    • Lead the development of forms to evaluate technical, operational, and safety aspects of subsea inspection activities.

    • Organize manuals for related risk assessments and Job Safety Analyses.

    • Act as a focal point for the EPRS Club Subsea Inspection strategies.

  2. Procedures and Protocols:

    • Develop and implement standardized procedures, forms, protocols, and flowcharts for Club UWI activities.

    • Gain approval and alignment for procedures within the EPRS Club Enhancement Project Management Team and Club members.

    • Review and update existing Club inspection procedures to incorporate industry best practices.

  3. Coordination and Communication:

    • Establish and standardize the coordination of subsea and UWI activities within the Club and with third-party providers.

    • Develop and maintain relationships with inspection and service providers to stay abreast of industry advancements.

  4. Incident Management:

    • Develop effective processes for remote inspection of Club members' subsea facilities during incident management.

    • Act as a point of contact with QatarEnergy Marine and other operators to synergize marine and underwater inspection efforts.

  5. Documentation and Record Keeping:

    • Organize and maintain UWI-related documentation and charts.

    • Maintain a database of all survey agreements and results, ensuring adherence to all obligations.

    • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, procedures, and agreements with Qatari laws.

  6. Industry Awareness:

    • Build relationships with third-party service providers to ensure EPRS Club's requirements are met.

    • Stay updated on the latest developments and resources within the regional offshore industry.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Marine, Subsea, Pipelines, Industrial, or Naval) (required).

  • Minimum 10 years of working experience with a focus on offshore inspection activities (required).

  • Familiarity with procedures and practices of marine/subsea activities (required).

  • Knowledge of offshore pipeline design codes and offshore construction/repair methods (required).

  • Understanding of marine surveys, ROVs, vessels/barges, and diving systems (required).

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills (required).

  • Strong project management and organizational skills (required).

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team (required).
