Requirements

The Staff Writer (Partner Content) will primarily be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Writing copy (ranging from news- to feature- and listings-style), proofreading and editing for Time Out GCC publications, both for digital and print.

  • Based on client briefs, conceptualizes and writes a wide range of content, from listicle features to video scripts.

  • Ensuring all copy produced fits within Time Out’s brand guidelines and tone of voice, while also achieving client goals and requirements.

  • Leading strategic brainstorming, campaign and brief development and creative execution.

  • Working closely with Time Out’s design team to develop creative concepts for marketing materials and campaigns.

  • Taking part in opportunity pitches and briefs.

  • Consistently stretching creative abilities, developing new ideas and seeing through from concept development to live execution across digital, print and video.

  • Working at pace to meet production and approval deadlines, and make sure content is signed off well in advance of publication.

  • Working with stakeholders including brand editors, digital editors and social media editors to ensure content is delivered across agreed platforms on time.

  • Meet individual weekly targets as agreed with the Head of Content and Commercial Director.

  • Work with the Head of Content to ensure ALL content reflects overall content / editorial strategy.

  • Attending key openings, events and press conferences as required.

Technical Competencies

  • Mastery of copywriting with second-to-none attention to detail.

  • Strong understanding of writing for digital, SEO best practice and digital marketing.

  • Experience working with a CMS and SEO tools.

  • Experience with Adobe Creative suite, specifically Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign (preferred)

  • Experience building and presenting decks to prospective clients (preferred)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent industry qualification

EXPERIENCE

  • At least four years’ experience in content creation for marketing purpose digital and print.

  • Experienced in taking briefs, and creating impactful copy for a variety of brands.

  • Strong understanding of writing for digital, SEO best practice and digital marketing

  • Experience working with a CMS and SEO tools

  • Experience with Adobe Creative suite, specifically Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign (preferred)

  • Understanding of the Middle East’s dynamic cultural identity, and a passion for new experiences
