About the Role:
In this exciting role, you will play a vital role in inspiring a love of reading and research in students. You will develop and maintain the school library, curate collections, and deliver engaging library programs that meet the needs of a diverse student body.
Responsibilities:
Manage and develop the school library, ensuring a welcoming and stimulating environment for learning.
Select, acquire, and catalog library materials, including print and digital resources.
Develop and deliver engaging library programs and information literacy instruction aligned with the US curriculum.
Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into classroom instruction.
Foster a love of reading and research skills in students of all ages and abilities.
Provide reference and research assistance to students, staff, and parents.
Maintain library records and management systems.
Qualifications:
Valid teacher certification as a Librarian (preferred).
New York State Librarian certification (highly preferred).
Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a Librarian in a US curriculum school.
Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field (Master's degree a plus).
Experience teaching in a US district school using the Common Core State Standards (New York State experience preferred).
Experience with library management systems.
Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to develop and deliver engaging instruction for students of diverse ages and backgrounds.
Native English speaker.
