About the Role:

In this exciting role, you will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering engaging academic programs for students. You will collaborate with colleagues at the University of Salford to design curriculum, teach courses, conduct research, and mentor students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teaching and Learning:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality teaching materials for various modules or short programs.

  • Supervise student projects, including field trips and placements.

  • Contribute to the planning, design, and development of courses and curriculum objectives.

  • Assess coursework and examinations, providing constructive feedback to students.

  • Act as a personal tutor to a group of students.

• Research:

  • Conduct research projects relevant to your field of expertise, potentially in collaboration with colleagues.

  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals or other appropriate media.

  • Present research at conferences and other events.

  • Identify and secure external funding for research projects.

• Leadership and Management:

  • Take a lead role in your area of expertise and mentor junior colleagues.

  • Participate in the university's appraisal process.

  • Lead and coordinate the work of other staff in module, program, or research project delivery.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure student needs are met and provide leadership within your assigned area.

  • Coordinate and implement research programs, student projects, field trips, and industrial placements.

• Other:

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean of College/Vice President (Academic).

  • Comply with university health and safety policies.

  • Promote equality, diversity, and an inclusive environment for students and staff.

Qualifications:

• PhD in a relevant field (required).

• Experience in teaching and course development at the university level (required).

• Demonstrated record of research publications in peer-reviewed journals (required).

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.

• Strong commitment to student success and mentorship.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
