About the Role

In this leadership role, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the university's mathematics curriculum. You will collaborate with colleagues at the University of Salford to design and deliver courses, support students, and contribute to program development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teaching and Learning:

  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan, design, and develop course materials and assessments for various mathematics modules and programs.

  • Deliver engaging and effective teaching materials across a range of mathematics courses.

  • Provide specialized support to students with special educational needs and those requiring additional mathematics support.

  • Continuously evaluate and improve the existing mathematics curriculum.

  • Set, grade, and assess coursework and examinations in accordance with university regulations, providing constructive feedback to students.

  • Supervise student projects and act as a personal tutor to a group of students.

• Leadership and Management:

  • Take a leading role in your area of expertise and mentor junior colleagues.

  • Participate in the university's appraisal process.

  • Lead and coordinate the work of other staff in module, program, or research project delivery.

  • Ensure student needs are met by collaborating with colleagues and providing leadership within your assigned area.

  • Support colleagues with less experience and advise on their professional development.

Qualifications:

• PhD in Mathematics or a related field (required).

• Experience in teaching mathematics at the university level (required).

• Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver high-quality teaching materials.

• Experience supporting students with special educational needs (a plus).

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.

• Strong commitment to student success and mentorship.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
