About the Role

This faculty position offers a unique opportunity to combine teaching, research, and leadership responsibilities. You will collaborate with colleagues at the University of Salford to develop and deliver high-quality courses, supervise students, and contribute to program development. You will also be expected to conduct your own research and actively participate in the academic community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teaching and Learning:

  • Design and deliver engaging teaching materials across various modules or programs.

  • Supervise student projects, including field trips and placements.

  • Collaborate with the University of Salford to plan, design, and develop courses and curriculum materials.

  • Assess student work and provide constructive feedback.

  • Act as a personal tutor to a group of students.

• Research:

  • Conduct independent or collaborative research projects in your field of expertise.

  • Apply your research knowledge to teaching and other scholarly activities.

  • Pursue external funding opportunities to support your research.

  • Publish your research findings in peer-reviewed journals or other relevant outlets.

  • Present your research at conferences and other academic events.

• Leadership and Management:

  • Take a leadership role in your area of expertise and mentor junior colleagues.

  • Participate in the university's appraisal process.

  • Lead and coordinate the work of other staff in module, program, or research project delivery.

  • Ensure student needs are met by collaborating with colleagues and providing leadership within your assigned area.

  • Manage research programs, engagement projects, and student activities.

  • Support colleagues with less experience and advise on their professional development.

  • Collaborate with external organizations.

Qualifications:

• PhD in a relevant field (required).

• Experience in teaching at the university level (required).

• Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver high-quality teaching materials.

• Strong research record with publications in peer-reviewed journals.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.

• Commitment to student success and mentorship.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
