Job Description

Key Accountabilities:

Job Specific Accountabilities:

  1. Review drilling, completions, and workover programs to ensure compliance with company standards and safety regulations.

  2. Guide implementation of best practices for extended-reach drilling.

  3. Monitor well work quality, efficiency, and safety through continuous analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs).

  4. Assist in preparing team KPIs and budgets for drilling and work-over operations.

  5. Provide support to multi-disciplinary teams during the planning and execution phases of well delivery projects.

  6. Supervise selected contractors to ensure alignment with company specifications and HSE regulations.

  7. Plan well operations details and ensure necessary resources are available.

  8. Monitor drilling, completions, and workover performance, and develop operating improvements.

  9. Coordinate with contractors to optimize drilling operations and reduce non-productive time.

  10. Participate in technical and feasibility studies related to drilling operations.

  11. Participate in designing and confirming designs of drilling equipment.

  12. Participate in operational audits, investigations, and follow-up of accidents and near misses.

  13. Enhance rig operations based on drilling experience and lessons learned.

  14. Ensure compliance with HSE policies and regulations.

Generic Accountabilities:

  1. Plan and supervise team activities to achieve department objectives efficiently.

  2. Develop knowledge and competencies within the team and support talent development.

  3. Monitor expenditure against approved budgets and investigate significant variances.

  4. Lead implementation of approved policies, processes, systems, and standards.

  5. Implement performance management system and monitor achievement of team KPIs.

  6. Review and recommend appropriate organization structure for the team.

  7. Encourage innovation and continuous improvement in operations.

  8. Support HSE culture and ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.

  9. Prepare MIS and progress reports for management.

  10. Communicate effectively and maintain working relationships internally and externally.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:

Minimum Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering.

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills:

  • 12 years of experience in drilling/upstream operations with 4 years in a supervisory capacity.

Professional Certifications:

  • N/A

Technical Competencies:

  • As per the approved competency dictionary.

Behavioral Competencies:

  • As per the approved competency dictionary.

Work Conditions:

  • Minimal physical effort.

  • Normally A/C environment with occasional work on the drilling unit.

  • Exposure to extreme conditions of noise, heat, humidity, and dirt when visiting or assigned on-site.
