The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Marine Superintendent to join our team. In this critical role, you will oversee the maintenance, repair, spare parts management, and dry docking of our vessels. You will ensure the fleet operates safely, efficiently, and reliably while meeting all regulations and standards.
Responsibilities
Plan, monitor, and supervise maintenance, repairs, and spare parts for company ships.
Review and approve ship repair requests, ensuring compliance with all regulations and budgets.
Oversee the dry docking process, including preparation of repair specifications, analyzing bids, and supervising repairs.
Manage planned maintenance schedules and ensure timely renewal of ship certifications.
Oversee maintenance work and equipment/spare part acquisition to meet fleet requirements.
Maintain high technical standards for vessels, focusing on efficiency, cost control, and safety.
Monitor inventory levels of supplies, spare parts, fuel, and lubricants, ensuring adherence to targets.
Conduct technical inspections of ships' machinery, equipment, structures, and documentation.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field (preferred) or equivalent qualification.
Foreign Going Certificate of Competency (CoC) (Class 1) (motor or steam) or equivalent.
Minimum of 8 years of experience, progressing to Senior Officer or Chief Engineer, with 1 year of experience as a Technical Superintendent or similar role.
Experience working on tugboats (offshore and port vessels) is a plus.
