Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and results-oriented leader to join our Library Information Services team as a Supervisor. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in managing daily operations, developing innovative services, and fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Reading Room.
Collaborate with the team to plan and implement next-generation library services.
Provide leadership and guidance to information services team members.
Manage workload distribution and establish team best practices.
Conduct performance appraisals, provide mentorship, and train team members.
Foster a positive and team-oriented work environment.
Manage outreach and liaison activities across the university.
Offer research consultations, teach information literacy skills, and conduct systematic reviews.
Identify and coordinate training and professional development opportunities for the team.
Partner with the Director and other library managers to create and revise policies and procedures.
Participate in long-term departmental planning and report development.
Who We Are Looking For:
A highly motivated and results-oriented leader with a proven track record of team and department development.
Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program or international equivalent.
Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience in library information services, preferably in a health sciences library or related field.
Demonstrated experience teaching information literacy, evidence-based practice, or similar content.
Familiarity with systematic reviews, critical pathways, guideline development, data management practices, and health literacy (preferred).
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
Prior experience with change management (preferred).
