Job Description
Responsible for supporting teachers in meeting the educational, developmental, and emotional needs of children within the Early Years (EY) setting. This role involves assisting with classroom activities, maintaining a safe and nurturing environment, and handling administrative tasks across EY.
Job Responsibilities:
Academic (EY):
Assist classroom teacher in creating a safe, healthy, and creative learning environment for children.
Implement strategies to prevent challenging behavior and promote social-emotional skills.
Foster positive relationships with students, addressing their individual needs with empathy and communication.
Supervise children in various settings, including outdoor spaces and the playground.
Support evaluation of children's progress under the direction of the classroom teacher/EY Coordinator.
Provide learning support to individual or small groups of children as instructed by the classroom teacher.
Cover the class in the absence of the homeroom teacher or in levels without a Teaching Assistant (TA).
Ensure cleanliness and hygiene practices among students, reminding them to sanitize hands and maintain tidiness.
Assist children who require extra time and support, following up with them accordingly.
Aid in marking children's workbooks, homework, and other tasks under the guidance of the classroom teacher.
Central Admin Support:
Assist in setting up, organizing, and maintaining the classroom environment and materials/supplies.
Support record-keeping, copying, and filing as directed by the classroom teacher.
Other Responsibilities:
Attend school events as required.
Undertake project work or cover other job roles as needed.
Requirements:
Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with children.
Organizational skills to assist with administrative tasks and classroom organization.
Flexibility to participate in school activities and events as necessary.
Willingness to undertake additional responsibilities as required by the school.
